On your trip to the capital of the department of Magdalena, you can scuba dive in a small fisher’s town called Taganga. You will be hypnotized by the beautiful view of the bay and the mystic paradise where the sea meets the Sacred Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

If you are an adventurous diver and interesting in learning about the wisdom of the ancestral lands this is your spot. Here you will find Black Corals and Brain Coral of gigantic proportions.

Diving Sites:


  • Taganga is the meeting spot for all divers in this region. There are 20 different identified sites, in the following table you can find the most prominent and visited.
  • In this region you can go diving thorughout the year. Since there is little visibility during the months of August and September, it is not recommended to do so in these months.
  • The nearest hyperbaric chamber to these spots is in the Hospital Naval de Cartagena.

Open Water & Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta


Start your underwater adventures by doing the first level of diving specialization in Santa Marta. You can enjoy the waters of the National Natural Park Tayrona, perfect for learning the basic techniques of diving. And while you are out of the water, you can know and enjoy the emblematic and mythical Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta.
  • 4 nights accommodation in Taganga. Private bathroom, hot water, air conditioning, minibar fridge, flat cable TV, WIFI and wardrobe. Breakfast included
  • 2 nights accommodation in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Single, Double or Multiple Room with full meals.
